Are you ready to walk along pristine
white sand beaches and play in the warm turquoise ocean? Are
you ready to discover hidden waterfalls, tropical gardens
and explore live volcanoes? Are you ready to swim with dolphins
and watch whales jump from the ocean? Are you ready to have
your skin kissed by warmed tropical breezes? Are your ready
to take a break from the stress of daily life? Are you ready
to deepen you practice of yoga and feel vibrant and alive?
Join us for a one week retreat at
the Tara Yoga Center. Situated on 40 acres of undisturbed
natural beauty on the Big Island of Hawaii - the environment
can be described as nothing short of breathtaking. 1000
feet up from the ocean, Tara boasts panoramic views of the
Pacific and stunning sunrises. The land is very lush and
green, creating a painting-like backdrop for the forest
of rainbow eucalyptus, palm and macadamia nut trees. There
is plenty of space for peaceful walks and forest trails
for hiking. The property also features a river that has
many pools for swimming and a sacred 400 foot waterfall
with a beautiful pool which is said to offer healing waters.
There is also a lava cave which you can meditate in!
The retreat center itself is ecologically
designed with a tropical /Asian flare – shoji doors,
tiled lanais ( porches), and beautiful paintings of Hawaii,
whales and dolphins. You’ll find lots of open, clean
space that will put you in tune with the environment and draw
in the natural beauty.
Nearby activities include white sand beaches,
swimming, snorkeling, botanical gardens, horseback riding,
whale watching, Volcanic National Park, Waipio Valley, coffee
plantations, spectacular waterfalls, the historic Hawaii town
of Hilo with dinning, shopping and museums, and much more!
There will also be plenty of time to just relax , take in
the warm Island breezes or get a massage.
"There is only one way to describe yoga
at Tara Retreat Center - magical!"

Something almost magical occurs on
a yoga retreat in Hawaii. The ideal warm weather helps to
soften your muscles, like minded people help support your
practice, and delicious fresh food nourishes you. And without
the usual everyday distractions you’re able to focus
on your regular practice of yoga in an environment that supports
deepening and opening. If you have ever been to Hawaii then
you know that there is a special energy (prana) there which
can dramatically deepen your physical and spiritual practice.
Yoga classes will be twice daily and include time for pranayama
and meditation. Our asana practice will be primarily in the
Iyengar tradition however we will also do some vinyasa (flow).
Your body and mind will de-stress, come into balance and you
can expect to feel radiant and alive. All levels are welcome.
"Best vacation I have ever had!"
